Freedom Mortgage Pavilion
Junior H comes to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Sunday, September 7th, with his Sad Boyz Live & Broken tour. It's a chance to hear one of the top names in the corridos tumbados movement live. Junior H has had a quick rise through the ranks, as have a lot of his contemporaries. In many ways, he's one of the founding members of this movement that mixes corridos with traditional rap beats, and he's even shown he's got a soft side as well!
There aren't a ton of Latin superstars ready to make their way to Camden, New Jersey, this year with their accordion and la tambora. Even though we don't have a new Junior H album out, it's looking like this might be the year where he distances himself from some of the other names in Mexican corridos tumbados music. The fact is, out of that stacked roster, he might be the most talented of the bunch. That's evident in some of his original tracks like "Y Lloro" and "Mientras Duermes," and it's also present in some of the covers that he's done. Recently, he taped a copy of his own version of Enanitos Verdes' "Lamento Boliviano." Proving he's not afraid to lean into that sentimental side. On top of everything else, he's showcasing his tremendous talent on every song. All of this is coming to the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on September 7th. You don't want to miss it!
Natanael Cano is part of Junior H's same record label. The same goes for Cuban sensation Ovi. It wouldn't be a massive surprise if either of these two guys takes the stage. What a lot of these corridos tumbados singers have in common is that they're not threatened by bringing someone along for the ride on their show. It even feels like they think the more the merrier. You'll get the best out of Junior H's original lineup mixed with some classic corridos. Who knows, there may even be more surprises waiting for you at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.
This is one of the few pavilion-style venues where you might think twice about being out on the lawn! Sure, the area is massive, and you're probably going to have more room out here to dance the night away with all of the corridos. The thing is, you'll have a limited view of the stage and will mostly experience the show through a screen. If clear views of Junior H and, of course, the stage are what you're looking for, then find a spot in the middle of the main theater in an elevated position. Those are going to be the best spots.
