Freedom Mortgage Pavilion
You might have to change your answering machine now that you're alone, but before you do that, check out this Ne-Yo & Akon performance at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Saturday, July 25th. It's a match made in R&B heaven, or maybe they met up at a club! Both of these guys have similar career arcs, and that actually opens up a ton of different routes that this performance can take. They actually worked together on a song before that was a massive party scene anthem at the time. The mix of R&B and the hint of the party scene will be present throughout this performance, that's for sure.

We haven't had "Nights Like These" in a while! Both Akon and Ne-Yo started out in the more romantic side of R&B, only to make the jump into the party scene. That last part might be what dominates this and every single performance on the tour. This is one of those shows where it does seem like we're going to see a co-headline effort. Both of them worked on the iconic David Guetta "Play Hard" track that's almost a lock on the setlist. It's going to be a ride through the romance or love lost efforts with "So Sick" and "Lonely," then a huge swing onto the party scene.
On the surface, these two might not have too much in common! Akon's known for his need to yell out "Convict Music!" before all of his smashing hits. Ne-Yo, even through his work on the club music tracks with an electronic music undertone, kept the R&B side very much alive. There's one thing, though, that these two can do, and that's build a massive party atmosphere, mashing their two music libraries. Expect them to share the stage way more than just that one time for "Play Hard." The last thing they want to do is slow down the tempo. It's going to be a fast-paced performance that's going to have you on your feet the entire night.
Anything that's near the stage is going to be highly coveted for this event. Those spots will make you feel like you're at one of your favorite clubs for the night, but the main event are two A-listers. That's a feeling that just doesn't come around all that often. That being said, it's also not a bad idea to find a place within the main theater that gives you a broad view of the action. Try and stick to that middle part of the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion for the best overall views.
