Wiz Khalifa is one of the most commercially successful rappers in modern music. His colossal hit, “See You Again,” conquered the airwaves in 2015. Performed with pop singer Charlie Puth, the track was commissioned for the Furious 7 soundtrack. The song topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for several weeks, and it also entered the charts in 36 other countries. Moreover, “See You Again” amassed billions of views and earned more than 50 platinum certifications from several countries, including 11 in the U.S.
Khalifa is no stranger to creating massive hits. In 2011, he released the single “Black and Yellow,” from his major-label debut and third studio album, Rolling Papers. The song peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Hot Rap Songs, making it his first-ever number U.S. single. Meanwhile, Rolling Papers earned gold certification in the U.S. and peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200, Top R&B/HIp-Hop Albums, and Top Rap Albums charts.
Khalifa’s co-headliner for the Vinyl Verse tour, Logic, is also a hitmaker in his own right. He released his debut album, Under Pressure, in 2014. The record entered the Billboard 200 chart and peaked at number 4, and it also hit number 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts. In 2016, Logic collaborated with Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, and Imagine Dragons for the Suicide Squad soundtrack, “Sucker for Pain.” The song went to number 1 on the Hot Rap Songs, making it Logic’s first number 1 single on the U.S. charts.
