Formed in Colorado Springs in 2002 by Ryan Tedder (lead vocals) and Zach Filkins (guitar), American rock band OneRepublic signed to Columbia Records in 2003. The duo was joined by Eddie Fisher on drums, Brent Kutzle on bass and cello, and Drew Brown on guitar, to form a full band, and their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud, was released in 2007. The album's lead single, “Apologize”, which was remixed by Timbaland, was a huge hit worldwide and hit the number one spot in sixteen countries. The song also received a Grammy Award nomination, and went on to be certified Platinum by the RIAA. The band has released four studio albums to date and Oh My My, their most recent album, featured several high profile collaborators, including Cassius, Peter Gabriel, and Santigold, and peaked at number 3 on the Billboard 200.
