Mötley Crüe were formed in 1981 in L.A by Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee, later recruiting guitarist Mick Mars and Vince Neil. Their debut album "too Fast For Love" was an instance success boosting the band into the rock metal limelight.
Record companies soon became interested in the band and were signed to Elektra. The second album "Shout a the Devil" was released in 1983 and was also a huge success. The band is known for their wild lifestyle, hectic live performances with heavy makeup, high heels and long hair.
