Grammy-Award winning singer songwriter and Dead & Company frontman John Mayer comes to BB&T Pavilion on Friday 18th August 2017 as part of his Search For Everything Tour! Releasing his new album of the same name this year, Mayer will be performing his show in three distinct sets: with a full band; a solo, acoustic performance; and as part of the John Mayer Trio – a treat for new and longstanding fans alike!
Singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer John Mayer started his career in music in 1997, when he left Boston's Berklee College of Music to perform as a duo with Zac Brown Band member Clay Cook, called Lo-Fi Masters. Continuing to pursue a career as a solo act, Mayer gained the attention of several record labels after a performance at South by Southwest Festival in 2000. Mayer released his first studio album, Room For Squares, in 2001. Room For Squares and its 2003 follow up, Heavier Things, were both commercial successes, achieving multi-platinum status. “Your Body Is a Wonderland”, a single from Heavier Things, won Mayer a Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 2003. Mayer's 2005 live album (released as part of the John Mayer Trio), Try!, and his 2006 studio album Continuum both received wide critical acclaim. Continuum earned Mayer a 2007 Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album, and he also won Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Waiting on the World to Change". Mayer has released six studio albums in total, and has won seven Grammy awards from nineteen nominations.
