Matchbox Twenty is an American alt-rock band that formed in 1995 in Orlando, Florida. Releasing their 12x Platinum debut album, Yourself or Someone Like You, in 1996, the band found instant fame, with regular radio play and huge commercial success. To date, Matchbox Twenty have released four studio albums, with their second and third also receiving multi-platinum certification, and their fourth debuting at number one on the Billboard 200. The band has had a few hiatuses and line-up changes over the years, but they announced in a press release in 2017 that they would be reassembling to tour with fellow 90s alt-rock band Counting Crows.
